Cornbread is both quintessential comfort food and a great party food: it can be baked and stored ahead. This vegan version relies on cornmeal, vegan buttermilk and vegan butter for its soft, rich satisfying flavor.

VEGAN CORNBREAD INGREDIENTS 

Cornmeal

Flour: all-purpose flour 

Cane sugar 

Baking powder 

Vegan buttermilk: homemade buttermilk recipe could be found in these post. 

Vegan butter 

Vegan egg

HOW TO MAKE CORNBREAD 

  1. In large bowl, stir together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, cane sugar and salt. 
  2. In another bowl, combine vegan buttermilk, vegan egg, and vegan butter (melted). 
  3. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combine. 
  4. Spread the batter into a prepared pan. 
  5. Bake 20-30 minutes (365F).
