This update on waffles gives the traditional dessert a rustic twist. These could easily serve as the base of a decadent dessert, topped with ice-cream, hot fudge sauce and whipped cream.

Flour: all-purpose flour
Sourdough starter
Instant yeast
Oat milk
Coconut oil
Vegan egg: you could use aquafaba
Cane sugar
Vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
HOW TO MAKE VEGAN WAFFLES
- In a mixing bowl combine flour, instant yeast, cane sugar, vanilla sugar and pinch of salt.
- Pour in sourdough starter, oat milk and vegan egg, stir thoroughly.
- Add coconut oil (melted).
- Wrap the batter with plastic and leave in a warm place for 3 hours.
- Bake waffles with a waffle maker according to manufactures instruction.
