MARBLE CAKE INGREDIENTS
Flour
Cane Sugar
Baking soda
Baking powder: homemade baking powder recipe could be found in this post.
Vegan butter (melted)
Xanthan gum
Plant milk
Apple cider vinegar
Vanilla extract
Cacao: dutch processed cacao
For chocolate icing you will need: chocolate and grape seed oil.
HOW TO MAKE VEGAN MARBLE CAKE
- Sift and whisk together the flour, sugar, xanthan gum baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- In a separate bowl place the plant milk, vegan butter, vanilla and vinegar whisking to blend completely.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry and mix until batter is smooth.
- Divide cake mixture into 2 bowls. Add cacao powder to the second bowl.
- Pour cake mixtures into two separate pastry bags.
- Snip the point off the pastry bags and pipe the mixture alternately into the cake pan. When the pan is full, pipe a line of butter lengthwise down the center of cake.
- Bake 35-40 minutes (365F).
- Once fully bake and cool, transfer to the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Melt the ingredients for the chocolate icing together in a bain-marie’s. Ice the cake.
