VARIETIES OF LENTIL AND HOW LONG TO COOK THEM (LENTILS 101)
Brown or green lentils (the basic kind) quite versatile and can be cooked al dente for a chewy texture. Cook time: 25 to 40 minutes.
Black lentils are sometimes called beluga and it’s firm and thick-skinned. Cook time: 25-30 minutes.
Red lentils are bright orange, soft and creamy texture. Cooking time: 10-15 minutes.
HOW TO MAKE GREEN LENTIL PANCAKES
- In a large bowl combine cooked lentils, chopped broccoli, cooked corn and peas.
- Add 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour, Italian herbs, garlic, sautéed onions, salt and pepper.
- Preheat the oven 365 F.
- Spoon each pancake on a parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
