POTATO GRATIN

These Potato Gratin is a simple vegan dish, made with mushrooms, potatoes and vegan béchamel sauce. It is a perfect main dish, very hearty and delicious!

HOW TO MAKE VEGAN BÉCHAMEL SAUCE

  1. Heat vegan butter in a saucepan.
  2. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute.
  3. Add the hot milk (whisking constantly).
  4. Continue to cook until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.

HOW TO MAKE POTATO GRATIN

  1. Preheat the oven 365F.
  2. Peel the potatoes and slice in thin rounds (you can use knife, peeler or mandolin).
  3. Arrange potato layer on the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Pour a layer of béchamel sauce.
  5. Grate vegan cheese on the top and follow with mushrooms and mushroom powder.
  6. Repeat layers.
  7. Bake 30-40 minutes until fully cooked.

Ingredients

Vegan Bechamel Sauce

  • 4 tbsp vegan butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 cup plant-based milk
  • salt and pepper

Potato Gratin

  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup vegan cheese
  • mushroom powder
  • bechamel sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven 365F.
