This update on waffles gives the traditional dessert a rustic twist. These could easily serve as the base of a decadent dessert, topped with ice-cream, hot fudge sauce and whipped cream.

1 cup flour 1/2 package instant yeast (4 g) 1/2 cup cane sugar 1 pinch salt 1/2 cup oat milk 1/2 cup sourdough starter 1/4 cup aquafaba 1 tsp vanilla sugar 3 tbsp coconut oil
In a mixing bowl combine flour, instant yeast, cane sugar, vanilla sugar and pinch of salt.
Pour in sourdough starter, oat milk and vegan egg, stir thoroughly.
Add coconut oil (melted).Wrap the batter with plastic and leave in a warm place for 3 hours.
Bake waffles with a waffle maker according to manufactures instruction.
