- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp anise seeds
- 1 cup water
- 2 vegan eggs
- 1/4 cup cane sugar
- 1//4 cup corn syrup (dark)
In a saucepan, bring water and anise seeds to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat, set aside.
Sift the flour and baking powder.
In a mixing bowl, whisk vegan eggs, corn syrup and cane sugar. Add infused "anise water", flour and baking powder. Mix everything. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter in a prepared pan.Sprinkle anise seeds on the top.
Bake for 40-50 minutes (365F) until ready.
